I used to live in La Honda, so this park is dear to my heart. Back when I lived there, this park was difficult to access--there was only access to the upper part of the park, through a free permit system that only allowed for one car into the park at a time. In December of 2017, the MROSD opened access to the lower part of the park off of Sears Ranch Road, which is closer to the actual town of La Honda. This was my first chance to go and check it out.

I so wish that the lower portion of the open space had been open when I lived in La Honda. I would have really made used of it! Be that as it may, I enjoyed my trip here in August; the breeze from the coast dispelled some of the smoke from far-away wildfires, and the naked ladies were blooming. I guess that it's never a bad time to make a return trip to La Honda.

In late July, my family and I moved to Livermore, and following that move my parents came to visit us to see our new place. This was a perfect opportunity to take my parents out to some of my favorite new parks. Here are photos that my dad took of some of the south bay's marshes. Father-daughter photography!
