We made a return trip to Cable Car Beach at Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park on Monday this week after having such an amazing trip last week.
On the way back, we went uphill on Eagle Creek Trail to reconnect with Pipeline Road in order to make the return trip to the parking lot. On our last visit, the weather started off foggy and gray but became sunny over the course of the visit. In contrast, we had nothing but perfect weather on our trip this time. July really is a great time to visit this park! It is especially nice on a weekday, when it is less crowded that the busy weekend. Even on a workday, the park was far from empty. Roaring Camp Railroad is open again, despite our ongoing pandemic, and there are plenty of folks who explore into the park either before or after going on a train ride. Still, there was plenty of space to spread out on a weekday.
Although it is currently closed, I am really interested to check out the Garden of Eden area of this park one day. Also, I want to check out more of the hikes recommended on the park's website. I am especially interested in the Cowell Highlights Loop and the Four Crossings! I don't think that any of these would be appropriate for toddler-aged children, so I would either have to go alone or wait a few years. Needless to say: I am looking forward to coming back here again!
