Wunderlich County Park

Wunderlich County Park is a lovely park near Woodside with a wide diversity of forest types. The figure-8 hike that I made was about 9.6 miles from the top of Skyline down to the bottom of the mountain and then back up. 

I started from the top of the park, off Skyline Drive. Coming in from this side of the park, there is no entrance fee. I parked at the southern-most parking lot for El Corte de Madera Open Space Preserve and then crossed over Skyline to enter the park.

​The highlights of the park for me were 1) the transition from the Redwood Trail to the Meadow Trail, where the darker redwood forest opened up into a gorgeous, airy eucalyptus forest, and 2) the Alambique trail between the Meadow Trail and Alambique Flats, where there is a stunning old-growth redwood tree on the right side of the trail (if you're going uphill).
